Winter Park, Fla. � Lynn University�s women�s golf team couldn�t make up ground on the final day of the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, placing fourth out of 13 teams. Maha Haddioui picked up her sixth top-10 finish while Katy McNicoll ended in the top-10 for the second consecutive tournament.
Four golfers notched scores in the 70s, led by McNicoll. The Carnoustie, Scotland product who is coming off major, shot a 76 over the last 18 holes to close out the 54-hole tournament with a 227 to tie for sixth, her best showing this year. Haddioui was one stroke behind her teammate on the afternoon but also finished with a 227 to tie for sixth. Megan Mangone had her best three round showing, shooting a 238 while her sister Rebecca recorded a seven-stroke improvement to card a 76 on the final day. Manavi Halwasiya shot a 241, respectively.
Host Rollins College (901) won the event for the fourth consecutive year but was followed closely by Nova Southeastern (906) and Florida Southern (908). Lynn (927) sat comfortably in fourth place with Barry (934) rounding out the top-five.
The Fighting Knights return to action Saturday, March 22 when they host Harvard University in a Dual Match at Boca Lago Country Club.
